The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program

Focused entirely on development issues, this programme offers young Canadians hands-on field-level experience in an international setting with the opportunity to learn and contribute to the inner workings of international programme management.

Made possible by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the JPOprogramme has grown to become a hallmark of UNICEF’s staffing strategy.

As a minimum, candidates must:

be a Canadian citizen
be 32 years of age or younger
possess a completed master’s degree in a related discipline
A selection of frequently asked questions has been compiled to assist you as you consider a JPOopportunity (see sidebar). Visit the CIDAwebsite for further details on this program.
